Foremost among the steps in search engine optimization is keyword research, ie, to prepare a list of keyword or keyphrases which are mostly commonly used by visitors to find your product or service. Another important step in connection with SEO-related works is preparation of quality as well as fresh content. Through writing of pertinent content and updating it with informative contents, your website could attract a large number of visitors.
Affiliate programs are excellent vehicles to make a sizable income monthly, provided you have subscribed for the right affiliate programs and you have a website that attracts a lot of traffic day in and day out. The latter aspect can be tackled with some Google tips for search engine optimization acts to make it search engine friendly, and thereby increasing its page rankings. But, when it comes to choosing a suitable affiliate program, some serious behind the scene work has to be done for not all affiliate programs may pay handsomely.

Regarding finding the best affiliate programs available at present, go to forums and blogs where such aspects are discussed by likeminded people. It is always better to seek the advice of those who have had subscribed for affiliate programs and making/not making money already. They could tell you which affiliate program is better and which one is not. Remember, not all affiliate programs pay their affiliate partners reasonably.

However, don’t go by the percentage of commissions offered by an affiliate program alone for at the end of the day what translates to money is the amount of sales you do through your site or the conversion rate and nothing else. For example, being an affiliate partner to a site marketing $100 products (which is in high demand) and pays 30% commission is far better than another product that pays 75% commission but has a far lesser market share/value. Apply your common sense to full use to assess the situation.

It is also crucial to understand how referrals from your site are tracked by the affiliate sponsor. As mentioned above, since payments are directly linked to conversion rates, it is safe to have a program that offers 2-3 months for visitors to complete the deal after them clicking the affiliate link. Shorter the tracking period, lesser are your chances to earn commissions.

Finally, read and understand the terms/conditions governing a given affiliate program. Some affiliate merchants include sneaky clauses in the terms and conditions that could technically restrict the affiliate partner’s chances of earning commissions. Also, keep an eye on the payment terms mentioned in the contract. Some say they’ll pay the money once in two months, while some others send the money only if the total crosses $100. Avoid both types. Realize that there are affiliate programs out there that automatically send you the money once a sale is made. Always go for such sure shot affiliate networks.

Video Marketing has now become one of the important segments of internet marketing. Video marketing is simply a technique adopted by online business firms to market their products and services via the creation of short video clips and displaying it on their websites. Developing an appealing as well as alluring video clip can undoubtedly fetch your product a favorable response. In other words, if your video content or information is of high quality, then it can easily generate good traffic to your website. In short, video marketing enables your website to have a good exposure.

Make Money With Online Videos

A website can utilize a video content in a number of ways. For instance, if you want to implement video contents for branding, improving sales, or driving traffic, then you could easily achieve it via some popular video sharing sites such as Google Video and YouTube. Likewise, a video content can be used for link bait, i.e., when a short informative video clip is uploaded in your website, then it encourages other website owners to link to your website. This in turn is highly beneficial for search engine optimization. Another way with which a video content can be utilized is through viral marketing. With viral marketing, an informative or funny video clip can go viral. On distributing it, the recipients or users could forward it to their friends and colleagues. Additionally, it also allows them to use video clips offline. However, video clips and contents can be proved beneficial only if it is updated with informative guides, interviews, and video tutorials.

One of the prime benefits of video marketing is that it can easily help in order to get your messages displayed. Since video content is quick as well as easy to understand, it could easily attract even a lay man. Another prime benefit of video marketing is that it can provide extra credibility for your business. In contrast to huge manuals or brochures that are attached with a product, a video could easily make understand the usage and purposes of a particular product or service. Above all, video marketing is regarded as a great means to enhance your business sales and maximize return on investment (ROI.)

With the proliferation of internet in the last decade or so, blogging has become sort of daily routine for millions, and the blog community is growing exponentially by the day. It not only had opened a creative outlet to express one’s thoughts, but also provided a medium to interact with hundreds of likeminded people from all corners of the world.

Blogs, in its very essence, are sort of online message boards where the writer or owner of the blog posts his/her thoughts, ideas, and views on virtually anything under the sun. A blog could also be an online personal diary reflecting the personal side of the blogger, his/her feelings and emotions, the way the person would like others to know him/her. At times, blogs also act as sort of websites, but with the difference that its contents updated daily or quite frequently and in accepting feedback/comments from the readers. At present, if to categorize the different types of blogs present in the cyberspace, very well that number comes to millions. From travel, cooking, diets, tennis, and fiction to science, cinema, games, and general blogging, the blogging categories are numerous.

How you can earn nearly $4000 from your blog!

Most people blog using free sties such as blogger.com, bloggerparty.com or WordPress, while some others have their own blog sites designed and hosted on shared servers. Blogger.com lets bloggers create and maintain their own URL while bloggerparty is more like a discussion board, where each person could post his/her entries by logging in to their respective accounts, but there is no concept of individual blog URL concept. The third one, WordPress has all the features of blogger, minus AdSense, plus a feature that automatically pings all blog feed directories and RSS every time a new post is made by a blogger, and the option to define subcategories to main categories to classify blog entries.

Blogs are also an effective method to promote websites, especially business websites, for while it’ll take months for search engine spiders to index independent websites, they’ll do it quickly for blogs provided they are updated quite frequently. So if the blogs has relevant contents and link to the respective websites, search engine spiders just can’t miss it. This is also the reason why blogging is considered an important step in SEO.

It is only this much words could convey. In order to feel and enjoy the joy of blogs and blogging, log into one of those free blog sites and start penning down your thoughts. You’ll love it for sure!

Google AdWords was the original PPC marketing method and it has become one of the most popular methods of advertising online all time. Understanding how Google AdWords works is essential to not only being able to use other CPC services, but at the same time it is also important for getting the clicks that you want for the price that you want to pay for them.

Free Google Ad’s

The first thing that you need to understand is that when you bid on a particular keyword with Google AdWords, part of their criteria for determining how much you pay for that keyword is the quality of your website in relation to that keyword. In other words, AdWords will look for a website with the keyword on it and many related keywords as well to make sure that your website is actually about what you are advertising on. Therefore, proper SEO of your click through point is essential to keeping the price for the keyword as low as possible.

Another thing that you need to know is that writing AdWords ads is quite a bit different from writing other ads. This is not like writing a landing page or a sheet of copy for an advertisement and if you treat it that way then you are only harming yourself. The title needs to be extremely catchy, but it also needs to be something that will draw the customer’s attention in a very real way. An example of this would be a question in the form of a common problem (i.e. Do you get headaches from your reading glasses?).

Then, you have two lines for a small ad as well as a place to put your URL. The two lines should not be selling the product (that is what your webpage is for), but rather should compliment your title in a way that makes the customer interested. For example, if your title was “Do you get headaches from your reading glasses?” then the next two lines might be something like “That was a real problem for me / until I found out why it happened” with the “/” being the line break between the two.

There are many questions to answer when first creating a web site. What should it look like, what language should it be written in, should I use a content management system, and which one? Content management systems, which are becoming increasingly popular, provide a great way to get a web site that would have taken months to write up in a couple days. While this is not to say they are always the best solution, or even necessarily a good one, they are an option that should be considered, especially by non-programmers.

The most popular content management system is something many people don’t even think of as a content management system - WordPress. While predominantly a platform for blogging, it is completely possible to make a site in WordPress without using any blog-like features. WordPress features a large library of extensions, a very simple codebase, and a decent support community. I say decent, because despite its huge user base, it is only a small percentage of users that are comfortable actually extending and fixing the system. The authors of WordPress have also created a piece of forum software known as bbPress, which can be easily integrated into WordPress sites, provided you know some PHP. An example of just such a setup can be found at my site, osflv.com.

If you are looking to do something a little more elaborate, you might also want to look into Joomla. My personal site, TrentTompkins.com, is running a modified version of it. Joomla comes with more features than WordPress out of the box, though many of these will end up going unused. Joomla also requires content be laid out in a Section > Category style organizational system, with the menus having to be created separate from the content system. The learning curve on Joomla is higher than WordPress, and the unintuitive nature of it can scare away new users. The big advantage Joomla has over WordPress is its extensions. While both applications have a ton of extensions available, the extensions for WordPress are aimed more towards bloggers, not site owners. For this reason, there are many plugins for Joomla that lack any equivalent in WordPress. Not all of these plugins are free though, or even cheap. In fact, you can expect to pay for a lot of what you need, be it plugins, training or support. The Joomla community is large, but reading through the message board you will find a lot more questions than answers. The support available is further split between versions 1.0 and 1.5, something I doubt will change anytime soon, as many sites have invested large amounts of money on custom solutions that will need rewritten for the next version, if they ever decide to upgrade.

When picking a content management system, the best advice I can give is this: If you can do it in WordPress, do it in WordPress. If there is a situation where WordPress just can’t be used (like needing a Joomla only plugin) then Joomla is a fine choice - just keep in mind that your site is going to be a lot more complex, and may cost you more in setup and programmers fees if you ever encounter an issue you can’t handle yourself.

There are several web hosting company prevalent in the online market there days. If someone has to buy a hosting pertaining to his need , then he ought to take a very judicious step or otherwise he may have to suffer in long term. Here are certain points which we need to keep emphasis before purchasing a hosting.

1.Amount of web space that you need. Resellers provide with various scheme of 100mb/250mb/500mb/1gb, so you first need to specify the web space requirement of your site catering to the growing amount of content in near future. You may have the options to even switch over to different hosting .

2.Bandwidth, its one of the most basic entity of having a web hosting. Each time your site has been viewed by a user, some band width is utilized in that process. Hence if you are having a descent traffic at your site then you at least need to have a bandwidth of 2GB/5GB. Most of the company follow a overselling technique due to which the client has to suffer in long term. Overselling means , if suppose you have been provided with a bandwidth of 2GB, but as soon as you cross the limit of 1.5 GB you will face down time problem. So be aware of such tricks.

3.Control panel !! this feature allow you to manage various aspects of your hosting account. It provides you various ways to create content of your site. Few of the Cpanel are preinstalled with drupal, wordpress, pearl, php, joomla and many more.

4. We need to be totally aware of the server where from the hosting is installed. Hosting based on Apache server is the most renowned one. The better the server is , better will be the uptime of the site.

The Right Slogan is Key to Brand Building Success

When it comes to the building blocks of brand strategy, a good business slogan or tagline ranks high in importance.

The tagline is a short phrase created to ride shotgun with the logo. Its purpose is to communicate the essence, uniqueness, or benefits of the business or product. The best slogans and taglines are catchy enough both to deliver a message and help customers remember the company name.

If it sounds a little complicated, it’s not. In fact the simplicity of the tagline is the key to its effectiveness, but it’s also what makes it such a critical part of the business’s brand development and marketing strategy. Taglines need to say something important enough about the company or product that they are worth repeating over and over. Getting to that “just right” phrase, however, can be a difficult process.

Think about the importance in brand awareness of slogans like these: “It’s finger lickin’ good”, “Because I’m worth it”, and “A diamond is forever.” KFC, L’Oreal and DeBeers have all benefited from the name recognition and “reason to buy” generated by these simple four-word slogans. These three taglines have all been used for years. Staying power is key to a good tagline or slogan.

When done right, a tagline reaches out to the target and makes them want the benefit your product offers: delicious fried chicken, a feeling of having been pampered, or a marriage good enough to last a lifetime (since your diamond will).

Another classic example is Avis Rent A Car and it’s “We Try Harder” slogan. You want convenience, reliability, and a fair price when you rent a car. The major car rental companies all provide those benefits. Avis gives customers a reason to want to associate with them because they try harder. Brilliant.

Since taglines and slogans are meant to be simple, why do so many companies fail at coming up with the right one?

One big reason is they often confuse their mission statement with their tagline. Mission statements are created to focus internal resources. Taglines are for external audiences and customers. Taglines communicate what the product or service can do for customers, not companies.

The bottom line is that taglines and slogans are a key component of any brand strategy. They are not easy to come by, but once you find the perfect one, stick with it and use it everywhere you use your logo.

A Favicon is a shortening phrase for Favourites Icon, it is an icon that’s used to represent a website or webpage. You can create these icons easily and many of the new browsers make use of these. When the favicon was first introduced it would show a little icon that the website owner designed in the persons bookmarks. It would only show up in their bookmarks and know where else. With recent browsers that have come out for IE and FireFox the capabilities of the Favicons have grown tremendously. You can now see the favicon making its way all over the place, I have come up with a list of where this icon now appears in most FireFox and IE browsers.

1.	In your favourites list
2.	In the URL address bar – Appears before http://
3.	Desktop – You can drag the icon to your desktop to create a shortcut
4.	Task bar
5.	Link bar

All of these locations will have the favicon icon viewable. Favicons must be made and saved into a favicon.ico file extension. If you don’t save it this way then your icon will not work at all, and you will have to change it. So make sure the extension is right. The favicon should be 16×16 pixels with 16 colours in it. There are some programs you can use online that will create favicon’s for you.

Favicon’s aren’t a proven science by any means yet and they still can’t even be viewed by all browsers. They use to help website owners in finding out how many people bookmarked their site, now that the favicon appears in so many different locations it is useless for any type of information gathering. It is now used as a means to distinguish your website and make it unique from all the others. All of the major traffic websites have these favicons for example MSN, Yahoo, and Gmail. All of them have a very unique feel to them and it helps people understand where they have been before. It’s easy to recognize these icons once you have seen them enough times, maybe that’s why they are starting to appear everywhere.

If you’re interested in making your own favicon.ico file then you can on the internet easily at many different websites. It doesn’t cost anything to make these at the sites it’s all completely free, and once you have made one save it to your computer so you can use it for your own website. If you don’t know how to upload the favicon.ico file to your website I’m going to tell you how quickly. You will want to upload your file into the root directory, in the index.html page. That’s all you have to do in order to have a working favicon, although if you don’t see it pop-up on your site right away don’t panic as it can take a few days to appear and sometimes vanishes for know reason. Now when people are visiting your site and viewing their favourites, they will be able to see your favicon instead of a default image. This can be a great technique for trying to brand yourself, make your icon stick out from the rest and be unique. You will want to make the favicon very stylish so that people will like it, you won’t want to get an unmemorable icon as then it’s just making a worse name for your site then the default image would. Since these favicons are completely free I would suggest anyone with a website to make there own and upload it to their website. It can either make a killer impression or terrible impression, let’s hope it wins you more customers, and clients. If you’re interested in making your own favicon then you can get some more information at favicon.com
